WEIGHING SCALE SERVICE AND SCALE CALIBRATION

We provide scale servicing and scale calibration services.

Our technicians who work on our scale calibrations and servicing are licensed under and conversant with the recently enacted Federal Government legislation governing the calibration and testing of the Trade Approved weighing systems. This brings multiple benefits to our clients as we can ensure that our services align with federal legislation, but also that our technicians are qualified to provide professional insights to benefit your process and skills.

In addition to our comprehensive calibration and servicing offerings, we also provide ongoing support and maintenance plans tailored to your specific operational needs. Our maintenance plans are designed to prevent downtime and ensure the continued accuracy and reliability of your weighing equipment. By partnering with Instant Weighing, you can rest assured that your equipment will be maintained at peak performance, minimising disruptions and maximising efficiency in your daily operations.

At Instant Weighing, we have serviced, provided scale calibration and sold the best equipment in weighing scales and measuring technology for almost 25 years. We specialise in quality scale calibration and repair services for different types of weighing scales including weighbridges. We provide written calibration test reports and if a trade approved scales the NMI Form 6 certificate.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TESTING OF A SCALE FOR THE NEW SOLAS/AMSA CONTAINER WEIGHING

Initial and then annual testing of any scale that will be used to determine the VGM weight of an export sea container (either Method 1 or Method 2) must be done in a special way and only Regulation 13 certified test masses can be used for the written test report to be AMSA compliant. We are finding out from very large companies (who were not our customers), that they have just been audited by the AMSA Inspector, and that their existing written test reports were not accepted by the Inspector (when submitted as part of the audit) as being AMSA compliant. The company being audited has then had to ask Instant Weighing to redo both the testing and the written test reports, which when submitted to the Inspector, our written test reports have always been accepted as being AMSA compliant.

Remember a forklift technician cannot test scales used for AMSA export sea container weighing because:-

  • they do not know the complex series of tests that must be conducted, and
  • they do not use NMI Regulation 13 certified test masses during the testing

How do we work?

Our accredited weighing scales services include:

  • Visual and functional inspection
  • Cleaning
  • On-site adjustment and scale calibration
  • Placement of a calibration sticker that contains the calibration date and next due date and if the scale is a Trade Approved scale the NMI reverification sticker.

After adjustments and maintenance are completed, scales are tested for a second time and results are recorded, giving you full traceability through the calibration process.

We offer multiple and adjustable service levels to meet your needs:

  • One-off scale calibration, service or repair visit
We offer flexible, one-time service visits tailored to your immediate needs. Whether your scale requires calibration, a routine service check, or an unexpected repair, our expert technicians are ready to provide prompt and professional service. Our technicians will ensure your scales are restored to optimal working conditions, delivering precise and accurate measurements after each visit.
  • Annual maintenance contract with monthly/quarterly/annually visit cycle options
For businesses seeking regular, hassle-free maintenance of their weighing equipment, we offer comprehensive annual maintenance contracts. These contracts are designed to keep your scales in top condition with scheduled visits that can be customised to fit your operational needs—whether that’s on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. Our maintenance contracts provide peace of mind, knowing that your equipment is regularly checked, calibrated, and serviced by professionals, reducing the risk of breakdowns and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

In the event of an unexpected scale failure, our breakdown call-out service ensures that help is just a phone call away. We understand that equipment downtime can significantly impact your operations, which is why we prioritise swift response times to get your scales back up and running as quickly as possible. Our technicians are equipped with the tools and expertise needed to diagnose and repair issues on-site, minimising disruption to your business.
  • Possible loan scales available if yours can’t be repaired on-site
To further support your business during critical times, we offer loan scales in cases where your equipment cannot be repaired on-site. This service ensures that your operations can continue with minimal interruption while we take your scales off-site for more extensive repairs. Our loan scales are carefully calibrated and maintained to provide the same level of accuracy and reliability as your own equipment, allowing you to maintain productivity while your scales are being serviced.
  • Certified calibrations
At Instant Weighing, we provide certified calibrations that meet stringent industry standards, ensuring your scales deliver accurate and legally compliant measurements. Our calibration services come with official documentation, including calibration certificates and, for trade-approved scales, the NMI Form 6 certificate. These certifications are essential for businesses that rely on precise measurements for trade, ensuring that your weighing equipment adheres to the required regulatory frameworks. Our certified calibrations provide you with confidence in the accuracy and reliability of your scales.
