In the Export Sea Container transport and handling industry there is new International SOLAS and Federal Government AMSA laws about weighing export sea containers and the testing that must be conducted yearly on the scale used to weigh the export sea container.
One type of scale used for these purposes is the scale installed in the reach stackers that handles sea containers. The AMSA Federal laws do state that if your equipment does have existing scales installed, your first option is to have these scales fully tested to the NMI testing laws using certified test masses. This testing is what Instant Weighing does and will endeavour to pass the existing scale.
Not every scale will pass these complex series of tests which must be conducted
In this industry, there is a need and requirement for both weight of the sea container (the VGM) and the sea container ID number to be available very quickly at the office for completion of the required paperwork to be lodged electronically with the port authority.
Instant Weighing and the Australian made COMPULOAD series of scales for such equipment have successfully installed new scales on reach stackers and successfully tested these scales to the Australian NMI testing laws applicable for this type and capacity scale, using verified test masses and our flat rack.
